FROM THE GRAPES OF WRATH.

FROM THE GRAPES OF WRATH.

The grapes of Wrath Steinbeck journeyed with a group of migrant families who were traveling the route from de devastated plains to California that the novel vividly pictures. The novel won the Pulitzer Prize in 1940. In 1962 Steinbeck won the Nobel Prize in Literature. The migrant families had lost their homes and their live hood, lonely and confused migrant families traveling westward came together each night and former a new society. Thus they changed their social life, changed as in the whole universe only man change; they were not farm men any more, but migrant men. The experience of the migrant families represents a basic human need for a communal society with rules and regulations that determine appropriate behavior.

THE EDUCATION OF AN AMERICAN.

THE EDUCATION OF AN AMERICAN.

Arnold Schwarzenegger knows what it is to do without. This article he speaks of his profound love for America. Actually for me going out into the real world meant coming to America and it was not really the things. I wish id known before I came because I always thought I knew everything already. Perhaps no one person embodies the possibilities underlying the American Dream more than Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Austrian-born bodybuilder who came to the United States with the goals of becoming a film actor and marrying a member of the Kennedy family. As an immigrant, Arnold Schwarzenegger has contributed much to America. However, May believethat immigration should be limited.

Small plane crashes into Ga. Synagogue.

A small plane crashed into the side of a synagogue Wednesday night, killing the pilot, witnesses said. About a dozen people were inside Congregation Children of Israel's Walton Way Temple cooking a meal on the second day of Hanukkah, but no one was injured, Rabbi Robert Klensin said. Vallirie D. Hooper, who was on her way to choir practice, said the plane "just glided right into the side of the building. Klensin said it did not appear that the temple sustained any structural damage. The fire and heat melted some of the roof overhang on the west side of the building, he said.

Just 2 ministries submit financial data

Only two of six Christian ministries under scrutiny for allegations of opulent spending turned over documents to a Senate panel by a Thursday deadline, with others either fighting the request or asking for more time. Attorneys for some of the ministries have said that probing the groups' inner workings amounts to unconstitutional governmental meddling in religion. Grassley has emphasized that he is not investigating doctrine but making sure organizations enjoying the benefits of tax-exempt status are playing by the rules. Grassley dismissed the religious liberty argument. But in a long post about his finances on his Web site, Hinn says that his board of directors is independent and includes no relatives, that he uses the church airplane exclusively for ministry-related travel, and that his U.S. office is audited annually.

Launch scheduled, despite system bug.

NASA will try again Sunday to launch Atlantis, even though engineers are unable to repair or even explain a recurring problem with the shuttle's fuel sensors. Liftoff of Atlantis and its seven astronauts will come at 3:21 p.m. -- if the sensors don't act up again as the shuttle is fueled Sunday morning and if nothing else goes wrong. The deadline leaves engineers with too little time to examine the sensors, but mission managers believe they have found a way to work around the problem. The crew is assigned to spend 11 days in space, delivering a European laboratory to the International Space Station.
