FROM THE GRAPES OF WRATH.

FROM THE GRAPES OF WRATH.

The grapes of Wrath Steinbeck journeyed with a group of migrant families who were traveling the route from de devastated plains to California that the novel vividly pictures. The novel won the Pulitzer Prize in 1940. In 1962 Steinbeck won the Nobel Prize in Literature. The migrant families had lost their homes and their live hood, lonely and confused migrant families traveling westward came together each night and former a new society. Thus they changed their social life, changed as in the whole universe only man change; they were not farm men any more, but migrant men. The experience of the migrant families represents a basic human need for a communal society with rules and regulations that determine appropriate behavior.

THE EDUCATION OF AN AMERICAN.

THE EDUCATION OF AN AMERICAN.

Arnold Schwarzenegger knows what it is to do without. This article he speaks of his profound love for America. Actually for me going out into the real world meant coming to America and it was not really the things. I wish id known before I came because I always thought I knew everything already. Perhaps no one person embodies the possibilities underlying the American Dream more than Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Austrian-born bodybuilder who came to the United States with the goals of becoming a film actor and marrying a member of the Kennedy family. As an immigrant, Arnold Schwarzenegger has contributed much to America. However, May believethat immigration should be limited.

These warnings are, in part, defensive measures designed to protect manufacturers against an important Democratic constituency, culture of victim hood, and of the presumed incompetence of individuals, is both a cause and a consequence of a society sprinkled with warning labels written for imbeciles. Such as ON an iron: DO NOT IRON CLOTHES ON BODY. On a fold-up child's stroller: REMOVE CHILD BEFORE FOLDING. Trial lawyers wielding their premise that when anything goes wrong for anyone, someone else is culpable and should be made to pay.

Small plane crashes into Ga. Synagogue.

A small plane crashed into the side of a synagogue Wednesday night, killing the pilot, witnesses said. About a dozen people were inside Congregation Children of Israel's Walton Way Temple cooking a meal on the second day of Hanukkah, but no one was injured, Rabbi Robert Klensin said. Vallirie D. Hooper, who was on her way to choir practice, said the plane "just glided right into the side of the building. Klensin said it did not appear that the temple sustained any structural damage. The fire and heat melted some of the roof overhang on the west side of the building, he said.

Just 2 ministries submit financial data

Only two of six Christian ministries under scrutiny for allegations of opulent spending turned over documents to a Senate panel by a Thursday deadline, with others either fighting the request or asking for more time. Attorneys for some of the ministries have said that probing the groups' inner workings amounts to unconstitutional governmental meddling in religion. Grassley has emphasized that he is not investigating doctrine but making sure organizations enjoying the benefits of tax-exempt status are playing by the rules. Grassley dismissed the religious liberty argument. But in a long post about his finances on his Web site, Hinn says that his board of directors is independent and includes no relatives, that he uses the church airplane exclusively for ministry-related travel, and that his U.S. office is audited annually.

Launch scheduled, despite system bug.

NASA will try again Sunday to launch Atlantis, even though engineers are unable to repair or even explain a recurring problem with the shuttle's fuel sensors. Liftoff of Atlantis and its seven astronauts will come at 3:21 p.m. -- if the sensors don't act up again as the shuttle is fueled Sunday morning and if nothing else goes wrong. The deadline leaves engineers with too little time to examine the sensors, but mission managers believe they have found a way to work around the problem. The crew is assigned to spend 11 days in space, delivering a European laboratory to the International Space Station.

Weight gain an iffy goal.
A few weeks ago headlines declared that being overweight might be good for you. The findings about being overweight were the newsmakers. Overweight people had a decreased rate of death from Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, infections and lung disease. Many people gain as they age, so obesity might be just a few years away. Using the waist-to-hip ratio along with BMI might better pinpoint those at higher risk. The bottom line is that being overweight isn't a goal, neither is it as great a risk factor as we might have thought.

The Ugly Girl

The Ugly Girl

On a summer vacation of 1984 in Miami, a mother gave birth to a little girl. Her name was

Emily. Through out the first years of Emily growing up, she was not a pretty girl. She was very

white with a lot of freckles, and she used to wear some big glasses. When Emily stared to attend

elementary school, she wasn’t very happy, Due to the fact that all the kids that surrounded her

used to make fun on her and they use to call her names like the Ugly Girl. She had a lot of

difficulties trough out elementary school, but she had one person who never thought that she

was ugly a lot, that person was her mother. Her mother gave her a lot of support and her

mother helped her a lot. But even though Emily had the love of her mother, she wanted to have

friends like any little kid. Emily used to suffer a lot, every day when she got from school she will

go to her room to cry, she didn’t have no one to play or to talk, only her mother. Her mother

also suffered a lot with this situation. Years past and she went to high school, then, her physical

appearance started to change. She became a beautiful girl with really long black hair, and she

had a really nice body. She was even in a model agency, because she loved to model. All the boys

that used to be her classmates in elementary started to like her, and they started to ask her out,

hey wanted to take her in date, but she refused, she told each and every one of them how much

she suffered and cried, and how miserable was her life when she was a little girl because all of

them used to treat her bad and they used to make fun of her. By the time Emily reached

College, there was not even one guy that wouldn’t ask her out. All the guys will go crazy when

they saw her walking. She was the most beautiful girl in the entire college. She went to a model

competition here in Miami, and she won the first place and she became Miss Miami. Her mother

was really proud of her daughter. Emily also felt very proud of her self. And she thought inside

of her, “I never dreamed of such happiness as this, while I was the ugly girl in school.

When Ben Affleck took the recommendation of several friends and read Dennis novel, Gone Baby Gone, he immediately started thinking about adapting it into a film. He just didn't know how he would end up directing it. The idea of directing became more and more appealing to him. And he said that no matter what, what he wanted to do was to direct movies. So what he has plan now and for the upcoming future is that he doesn’t want to act no more and he wants to be a film director.

Child Abuse

Teacher misconduct continues to plague the schools of United States. The extent of sexual misconduct by teachers in America's schools is getting worst. According to a seven-month investigation by The Associated Press, students in the U.S. schools have been groped by teachers, molested, pursued, seduced, and made to think they're in love. Young people were the victims in at least 1,801 of the cases, and more than 80 percent of those were students. This is really disturbing for parents, and I think that the government should find solutions to resolve this case.

The Story of my Life

The Story of my Life

I was born in Havana Cuba, and this is where I attended elementary school. Through out elementary school I was a straight A student. I was one of the most brilliant students in my class. My favorite teacher in elementary was Melissa. She was very nice and sweet with me, she loved me very much, and she frequently visited my house, and even had dinner with me and my parents. For me she was like my second mother.

After graduating from elementary school, I also attended middle school in my country. By that time I had a lot of friends that were my classmates in elementary. By the end of middle school my parents told me that we were going to go live to the United States. I was very unhappy, due to the fact that I was going to have to leave Cuba and all of my friends behind as well as all of my professors that I loved so much and grew up with. I was worried because I knew that coming to this country I would have to meet new friends and get used to a different way of living.

When I came to the United States, I started to attend high school. It was really difficult to me, because I had to learn a new language. I also had a lot of difficulties to adapt to the system of this country. I was very depressed in school because I didn’t have any friends, but I tried to do my best to learn English and to get good grades on my classes. By the middle of high school I was more confident on myself and I had some friends that helped me. For me school here was harder than in my country because I had to start from zero.

After I graduated from high school, I w to went to college. I’m now attending Miami Dade College. Now I feel more positive on myself because I was able to adapt to this country and I learned the language. Now I want to finish college so I can be able to go to a University in which I want to study Computer Science. I’m going to try to do my best so I can reach my ultimate goal.
